sarah trudelle is a film and video editor based in montreal, qc.
She is best known for her work on Crave/Telefilm’s WILD GOAT SURF (VIFF 2023), for which she won Best Picture Editing in a Motion Picture at the 2024 Leo Awards. The film also won the Special Jury Prize for Best Narrative Feature at the Oscar-qualifying deadCenter Film Festival.
Her other work includes digital series such as 20th Digital/Freeform’s Bite Size Holiday (THE UGLIEST OF THEM ALL), which garnered ~2 million views on Freeform’s social media, as well as short films like DINNER FOR THREE (Fantasia International Film Festival 2019, Just for Laughs 2019) and music videos for artists such as STORRY (runner up for The Voice UK 2024).
Sarah is a member of AQTIS 514 IATSE and Canada Cinema Editors. In addition to editing, she has 8 years of experience in the VFX industry, credited in films such as Tim Burton’s Dumbo and most recently Mufasa: The Lion King (2024).
Sarah’s obsession with storytelling began in the 5th grade (2001) when she used iMovie for the first time to edit a short film on the school’s old iMac. After completing a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Studies, Specialization in Film at Concordia University and the experience of editing 16mm on a Steenbeck Machine, her love for the medium was solidified — the challenge of the puzzle, the infinite decisions and possibilities behind each cut, the joy of creative collaboration and bringing the director’s vision to life.
